Prof. Defabianis is a fellow of the Italian Society of Orthodontics (SIDO) , of the Italian Society of Paediatric Dentistry (SIOI), of the European Academy of Craniomandibular Disorders (EACD) and of the International Association for Functional Orthodontists (IFUNA).

Research Interest:

Author of numerous national and international scientific publications, she has lectured internationally and authored numerous research papers. In 1993 she won the first prize in journalism of the ASDC (American Association of Dentistry for Children) FOUNDATION as co-author of the article “ A SEM investigation on pulpal-periodontal connections in primary teeth". The current area of research is mainly concentrated on craniofacial growth problems connected to malformations and TMJ pathologies, disorders and disfunction ( due to systemic diseases, trauma, and /or infections)
